Daily Takeaway: Rough start after hitting the range for an hour yesterday afternoon. Funny how I assumed that would help my game and confidence. Drove the ball horribly after hitting at least 50 drives yesterday where I felt like I was really crushing the ball. I was able to scramble though with a ton of pars, no birdies and only 1 double bogey.

Daily Takeaway: Went out solo today, and it appears course maintenance was running behind. So every hole, they were slightly in front of me, dropping sand, spreading sand, and a couple minutes of water. Did not affect my play though. I did not have my best stuff, but was able to score. Highlight of the day was a good drive on #3, followed by a 5 wood to 9′, and then I made the eagle. I made some good wedge shots and many one-handed chips. I had 6 one-putts, but stumbled late with 3 putts on 17 and 18. I also had at least 4 putts that lipped out. Still shot a 78, but easily could have been a couple better. Ended up with 9 pars and an eagle.

Daily Takeaway: A nice holiday round that I was able to play with the boys, always a good time busting balls and having fun on the course. Had some horrible drives today, but still managed to score. Putter was working well for me, getting it to tap-in range from some long distances. Also, chipping game was strong, getting it close enough to make a couple. Still left some strokes out there, with a couple of doubles. Highlight was #3, with a decent driver and a 5 wood pin high to 12′. I missed the eagle but made the birdie. Finished strong with 3 (4’s).

Daily Takeaway: Indian Hills had an all day tournament so we decided to play at Willowbrook. I had played out there a couple of times about 15 years ago. Course was in decent shape, but it was very hot, we had an 8:20 tee time which is later in the day than I prefer. I really struggled on the course, finally getting my first par on the 9th hole and was +12 at the turn. I played a little better on the back with a +7 on the back. I struggled with the speed of greens and ended up in the sand multiple times. I also had penalty strokes on the back side as well.

Daily Takeaway: Very hot again this morning with expected air temps near 100. Played in less than 2 hours. Again, did not have my best stuff and actually was fighting the shanks today. I hit at least 4 bad shanks but was able to limit the mistakes to never exceed bogey. Again finished strong on the last 3 holes. So all in all happy with the round and without the shanks should have solidly been in the 70’s.

Ended up in the bunker twice and the bunker play has been difficult lately. Struggled on the back side, but finished strong on the last 3 holes. I am still trying to get used to the new putter, and have figured it out for long putts, but still struggling on the shorter putts.

Daily Takeaway: Wednesday golf is tough — there’s a group of old VA golfers that shotgun off the back, which routinely causes delays. A lot of start, stop, wait on the back nine. Didn’t have my best stuff today, and it was hot, with air temps nearing 100. Still working out the details with the new putter — getting them closer, but not sinking very many yet.

Daily Takeaway: Super quick round completed in under 2 hours as the first golfer out and played solo. Did not have my best stuff, but scored well. One sloppy double on #13, par 3, just coming up short, and then failing to reach the green on short one handed chip and ultimately missing 10′ putt for bogey. Missed the fairway on #18 once again, I will need to figure this out, as it has been an almost every day occurrence. Ended with 10 pars and 2 birdies.
